This article will show you how to uninstall the Google Chrome browser on your computer and mobile device. On some versions of Android, Chrome is the default browser and cannot be uninstalled.

Steps

Method 1 of 4: On Windows

1. 1 Close all open Google Chrome windows. Sometimes Windows cannot uninstall a program if it is running.
2. 2 Open the start menu. To do this, either click on the Windows logo in the lower left corner of the screen, or press the key ⊞ Win.
   • In Windows 8, move your mouse to the upper-right corner of the screen, and then click the magnifying glass icon.

   • In Windows 7, click Programs and Features.
5. 5 Scroll down and highlight Google chrome. You will find Google Chrome in the list of installed programs.
   • To quickly find the program you want, sort the list alphabetically; to do this, click "Name" at the top of the window.
6. 6 Double tap Delete. It's below the program's name (Windows 10) or at the top of the Programs and Features window (Windows 7).
   • In some cases, in Windows 7, you need to click Change or Remove at the top of the window.
